Kaspar Valgepea received ERC grant to study gas fermentation

Kaspar Valgepea, Assoc. Professor of Gas Fermentation Technologies at the University of Tartu, will, with the support of a grant of 2.3 million euros from the European Research Council, expand the understanding of bacteria that consume exhaust gasses. He plans to create a new method for genetic modification of a large number of bacterial strains and to put together a field-supporting body of knowledge.
