Ilona Faustova on ETV+ TV show dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia

Vice Director of the Institute of Bioengineering, Assoc. Prof. Ilona Faustova, was a guest on the ETV+ TV show dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia. The interview was about biotechnolgy advances, establishment of new institute within the University of Tartu - Institute of Bioengineering, the largest funding in the history of the University of Tartu, what opportunities it brings. The plans were discussed about development of the bioengineering and synthetic biology, as well as digitalisation of biology and incorporation of machine learning and AI technology in synthetic biology.

It was also mentioned the Estonia-TUIT team great success on the world's largest synthetic biology competition – iGEM, where the team won the Grand Prize in 2023.

And for sure as the interview was dedicated to the Independence day of Estonia Ilona wished Estonia peace, prosperity, do not forget that people are one of the main treasures of the country and to recognize the potencial and realise it, otherwords live to the full potential.
